You're not "stuck". Chances are your internet connection could be blinking out for a second them coming back on that was happening here. It really slows down the process. I also found that I had so many doubles, triples, quadruples of some photos, it was ridiculous. I don't really have over photos that I want to keep. So, I use an app for photo duplicates and get rid of some of the duplicates occasionally.
